A Winter's Tale

To say it has been snowy would be a once in a decade understatement.

It has been an historical bout of snow, a legendary siege of snow.

Each new morning seemed to break the record from the day before. I have never seen so much snow in Seattle before.

The snow piled up and up, like a scene out of the novel 'Winter's Tale' by Mark Helprin... one of my favorite books.

What a Christmas! A time to remember...
It was fun to capture it all in pixels with my trusty Panasonic FZ18.

Beautiful and magical, John. It's lovely to see glistening blue-white snow drifts, because here in Philadelphia, we have gray raindrops on gray branches. Thanks for sharing your photographic gifts with everybody. Happy Gnu Yeer to you!

Happy New Year!

The slush that this snow turned into isn't nearly as photogenic. But at least it's a lot easier getting around town!

Amazing photos John. And an epic snow too - even from the perspective of someone who grew up in the snow belt.

And Winter's Tale is one of my all time favorites too.

Beautiful photos, John, especially the one shot from the second floor window. Here in the midwest we've had more than our share of snow this year, but we always expect it. I can imagine how magical this much snow was in Seattle.

How Lovely!!

Still no snow for us here, just a light sprinkle of frozen rain, enough to ice the roads and sidewalks.
