The whole day long the fog hung round...


Artistic forms appeared in abundance...


while lost souls searched for what once had been theirs...

Here's a trailer for one of my books.

It was fun putting it together, once I figured out all the baffling 'simplicity' of iMovie. I'm sure I spent more time learning how to get it all to work than I did with the creative stuff.

But the next time it ought to go much faster, if I still remember how, that is.

Mini-vacation part 1

Here's part 1 of my mini-weekend vacation, lasting slightly over 24 hours. First of all the getaway... into the deep, deep woods.



And next comes the tent, of course. Setting up the tent helps make it feel more like a home and less like a lonely spot in the middle of the woods.


Now here's what I was going for... except this view only exists in telephoto. The actual view (20 miles away) was of a somewhat drab lake sitting in the midst of a blazing hot cloudless sky.

Did I mention it was full of relentless mosquitoes? Indeed it was! Bugs can ruin the best camping trip.

*Note to self - Do not depart on a camping trip in the middle of a 90 degree heat wave! Do not count on 'alpine cooling', to make things pleasant, as 'alpine cooling' will not arrive! However mosquitoes will arrive... in abundance!

Next time make sure you go to the glacier instead!

Am I repeating myself?... monday, wednesday & friday... forgotten illustrations change colors inexplicably!

Otters!

It was rare-creature day down at the swamp... when for the first time ever we saw a group of 3 otters! I've never seen them here before, after years of hanging around looking. I was lucky enough to catch a blurry photo of them as they were carrying a fish onto a log.

The other rare creatures were a green heron (very skittish and difficult to observe or photograph) and a Sora... another very rare and skittish wading bird.

Also a soft shelled turtle... those are unusual. For some reason they all came out to make an appearance.

The otters were the best though... the way they hop along with fluid movements is amazing...

Nature is wonderful if it just gets left alone...
